Growing up on the West Coast in a family of artists and scientists, Zoe learned at an early age to value creativity and appreciate the beauty and elegance of nature.

After 25 years in Information Technology, Zoe left the corporate world in 2005 and moved to North Georgia to pursue a second career in art.  Her dream gathered momentum upon taking a Pastel class at the John C. Campbell Folk School in Brasstown, NC.  Captivated by the vibrancy of pastel, she initially devoted herself to this versatile painting medium.  Since then, Zoe has studied with Pastel Society Signature Members Albert Handell, Terry Ludwig, Maggie Price and Kitty Wallis, and a number of well-known regional artists working in pastel, watercolor and acrylics.

Zoe’s favorite subjects are landscapes, flowers, and animals.  She is especially fond of the unique beauty of the Southern Appalachians, with their steep, time-worn slopes, pleasant pastures, and abundant creeks, lakes, and waterfalls.   When not painting, Zoe actively supports a number of community and conservation activities aimed at appreciating and preserving this beautiful area.

Zoe is a member of the Southeast Pastel Society, Mountain Arts Association, North Georgia Arts Guild, and the Mountain Regional Arts and Crafts Guild.  Her work can be in galleries and retail outlets in Georgia and North Carolina.
